A Celebration of Enchantment

By Train – From Boston
walking directions & photos – from train station to Bearskin Neck

Traveling to Rockport by train from North Station in Boston is easy. It is a direct line, and we are the very last stop:

When you get off the train in Rockport, you will have a short walk (about a mile) into town and down to Bearskin Neck, where we are located. Posted at the Train Station is a crude old map of the main streets of the town. The train station is right behind the Dunkin Donuts building and the Whistlestop Mall. Head out to the street (Railroad Ave), in front to Dunkin Donuts and take a right, heading down the hill, and on toward the intersection.

Here you may choose to walk down Broadway, where you can find our Post Office, Police Station and the Rockport Market - a convenience store. (Follow the directions above for driving: Go down Broadway to the lighthouse stanchion and take a left into Dock Square, followed by a right onto Bearskin Neck). But instead - for the prettiest and most interesting walk - we recommend you take a sharp left. This will take you through a residential section, down to where Beach Street branches off from Main Street. Take a right here, and enjoy a leisurely downhill stroll through shops and galleries. When you reach the square with the island in the middle of the road (Dock Square), Bearskin Neck will be straight ahead. Walk onto the Neck as far as the Pewter Shop, and go left. Walk through Old Harbor Square, past The Barn Gallery and down the dirt road. Seafencibles Park is the grassy area straight ahead, to the right of White Wharf.

ATMs are scattered conveniently throughout the shopping area.
